Overview

How It Works

This assessment uses advanced force plate technology to evaluate how your body performs during functional activities such as squats, jumps, and single-leg tasks. At BeFit Physio, we use the Force Decks by VALD to collect objective data that cannot be accurately measured through visual observation alone.

Your session begins with a brief consultation, where your physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, injury history, activity level, and personal goals. This helps ensure the assessment is relevant to your individual needs.

You will then be guided through a series of standardised tests on the force plates. During these tasks, the system records important metrics including force production, weight distribution, balance performance, timing, and left-right symmetry.

Once testing is complete, the collected data is reviewed and analysed by your physiotherapist. The findings help identify asymmetries, compensation patterns, and physical performance deficits that may contribute to discomfort, reduced efficiency, or limitations during sport and daily activities.

The results are then explained in clear, practical language so you can better understand how your body functions and where improvements may be needed.

All techniques are performed with the consent of the patient, after evaluating individual needs and discomfort tolerance.

Benefits

What You Can Expect

Objective, Data-Driven Assessment

Force plate technology removes guesswork. Every result is measured and recorded — giving your physiotherapist accurate information to base decisions on.

Identifies Asymmetry and Compensation

Detects left-right imbalances and compensatory movement patterns that may be contributing to pain, poor performance, or injury risk.

Supports Return-to-Sport Clearance

Provides measurable benchmarks — particularly useful for patients recovering from ACL reconstruction or lower limb injuries before returning to training or competition.

Your Experience

What to Expect

During your appointment, you can expect a structured and personalised assessment experience designed to provide deeper insight into your biomechanics and overall physical performance.

Following the consultation and testing process, you will receive a detailed review of your results. This includes objective measurements of force output, balance control, landing mechanics, and side-to-side differences.

Your physiotherapist will explain the findings in an easy-to-understand manner, helping you identify factors that may be influencing discomfort, recovery, athletic performance, or physical function.

You will also receive a structured assessment report summarising the key data collected during the session. This report can serve as a valuable benchmark for monitoring progress and measuring changes over time.

Based on the findings, personalised recommendations will be provided. These may include physiotherapy treatment, targeted exercise programmes, rehabilitation planning, performance optimisation strategies, or additional assessments where appropriate.

For individuals seeking a more comprehensive understanding of posture and biomechanics, this assessment can also be combined with 3D Posture Analysis3D Posture Analysis.

Most appointments take approximately 45–60 minutes to complete.
